Punjab Capacity Building Program 2009-10

Government of the Punjab, Punjab Resource
Management Program (PRMP) PMU, Planning and
Development Department, Lahore, invites
applications from eligible officers, civil
servants (regular employees of the
Government of Punjab) for award of a limited
number of scholarships for one year Masters
degree Programs for the Fall session
2008-2009 in specified disciplines to be
pursued in identified universities/
institute.
Eligibility Criteria
2.
An officer applying for the PCBP must
fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

Regular
employees of Government of the
Punjab, Civil Servants belonging to
various Provincial Services/Groups,
working in BS 17 to 19;
technical/specialist cadre or
ex-cadre employees; |

An applicant for PCBP scholarship
must: - |
a. Hold a
masters degree or 16 year education
b. Fulfill the following age criteria at
the closing date of application: -
(1) For
BS-17 Officers 38 years
(2) For BS-18 Officers 45 Years
(3) For BS-19 Officers 52 Years.
c. Have at
least 5 years public sector work
experience in BS-17 or above.
d. Be a regular employee of the
Government of Punjab, Civil Servant or
Technical/Specialist Cadre or Ex-Cadre.
(Officers belonging to autonomous
bodies, corporations, regulatory bodies,
education, health, judiciary and not
involved in public policy making and
implementation would be ineligible for
the program).
e. Hold a permanent post with the
Provincial Government or at the District
level.
f. Furnish an undertaking on a legal
paper that she/he will serve the Punjab
government for a period of at least 5
years after training.
3. Only those
candidates will be considered for funding
who will get admission in the identified
degree programs against the indicated
universities/ institutes. Candidates are
advised to get admission only in the degree
program which has a direct relevance with
their Department/ Organization, as indicated
in the “Guideline for Course Descriptions
and Recommended institutions” available at
PRMP website located at,
www.punjab-prmp.gov.pk. The Capacity
Development Intervention (CDI) Committee can
add or change universities/programs on this
list as it deems fit.

a. Women are encouraged to apply and would
be given preference in selection.
b. Officers from relevant
technical cadres are also encouraged to
apply to relevant technical
courses.
5. Applicants who believe that they meet
the above eligibility criteria can apply
directly to the specified universities
without waiting for any clearance from the
PRMP. However, their application must
clearly indicate the names of universities
(maximum 2) and the degree program against
which they should be considered for
scholarship. Once granted admission,
candidates must inform PRMP immediately.
Acceptance by the university is not a
guarantee for final selection. Final
selection will be made by the Capacity
Development Intervention Committee (CDIC).
6. PRMP reserves all rights to reject
any individual or group or call off the
whole selection process without assigning
any reason.
7. Applications on the prescribed Form
should be routed through the respective
organizations/ proper channel and submitted
to the Program Director, Punjab Resource
Management Program, 184-A, Upper Mall Scheme
behind NIPA, Lahore by the revised date of
30th
April 2009 by
1500 hours. Advance copies of applications
may be sent directly to the PRMP; however,
no application would be processed for final
selection unless official nomination/NOC is
received.

universities/ programs may be downloaded
from PRMP’s website located at
www.punjab-prmp.gov.pk
