Lecture by Mr. Kishore Mahbubani, Dean, Lee

Mr. Kishore Mahbubani, Dean of Lee Kuan Yew
School of Public Policy, National University
of Singapore, is scheduled to visit Pakistan
from 5th to 12th September, 2007 as a State
Guest. He will be in Lahore from 8th to 10th
September, 2007. Mr. Kishore Mahbubani is an
eminent scholar of philosophy and history.
He has published extensively in leading
journals and newspapers (including Foreign
Affairs, the National Interest, the New York
Times and the Wall Street Journal).
Mr. Mahbubani is a civil servant and career
diplomat who has been with the Singapore
Foreign Service since 1971. He has served
two tenures as Singapore’s Ambassador to
United Nations and as President of UN
Security Council in January 2001 and May
2002. He was previously Permanent Secretary
at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was
the first dean of the Civil Service College
in Singapore. He is the author of “Can
Asians Think?” (published in Singapore,
Canada, US, Mexico, India, China and
Malaysia) and of “Beyond The Age Of
Innocence: Rebuilding Trust between America
and the World” (published in New York).
PRMP has arranged a talk by the
distinguished guest on “The New Asian
Hemisphere: the Irresistible Shift of Global
Power to the East” on 8th September, 2007 at
2:30 pm for officers of Government of Punjab
at Khurshid Mahal, Avari Hotel, Lahore. The
proposed talk will be followed by a Q & A
session.
