Appraisal Mission For PRMP II—September 2007
Asian
Development Bank’s Fact Finding Mission visited Lahore in
July 2007 to firm up reform measures for the PRMP-II. The Mission
held extensive meetings with the implementing departments as well as
other stakeholders to finalize the structure and design of PRMP-II. PRMP
organized four exclusive thematic workshops on each core policy reform
area of PRMP-II from 19th to 21st July 2007. The four core policy areas
of PRMP-II includes: i) Fiscal & Financial Management reforms ii)
Pension Reforms iii) Civil Service Reforms & iv) Private Sector
Development. These workshops helped in sharing the reform agenda with
the stakeholders and get their input. The final design of PRMP-II was
shared with the implementing departments during the wrap-up meeting of
the Mission was held on 28th July 2007 in the P & D Department.
Government of Punjab is committed to ensure the compliance of the policy
commitment of SP 1,PRMP-II by 31st October 2007. ADB Appraisal Mission
is visiting Lahore from 4th September 2007. The Mission members
will be meeting the key officers of the Government of the Punjab in
addition to meeting the implementing agencies. Mr. Ramesh Subramaniam,
Director Central & West Asia Department, Asian Development Bank is
